As technology and globalization transform our civic and economic spheres, educators must confront the challenge of preparing students for an ever more complex and cognitively demanding world. School leaders face both challenges and opportunities in encouraging classroom innovation and instructional progress while upholding academic rigor and student performance.
In March 2016, , principals, superintendents, tech directors, curriculum designers, instructional media specialists, library-media specialists, researchers, and other education leaders for a one-day event of presentations, workshops, hands-on sessions, and informal gatherings to address exciting and critical topics that will shape our classrooms of the future. We will explore the skill sets that our students will need to develop to thrive in their future and address a range of technological advancements — including tablet integration, cloud computing, BYOD (Bring Your Own Device) environments, flipped lessons, blended learning, Common Core evaluation, and more — that will change the face of classrooms for years to come. Participants will leave the event with greater understanding of recent and emerging technologies and how they will impact education, deep insights into thoughtful technology integration, and the foundation for an effective action plan that leads change in our schools.
