Jason A. Engerman has a Ph.D. in learning, design and technologies from The Pennsylvania State University. He was the Charles M. Reigeluth emerging researcher for 2017 from the Association for Educational Communication and Technology (AECT) as well as the Presidential Emerging Leader 2016. His research investigates underrepresented populations and their sociocultural uses of interactive digital media (such as video games) within their native learning ecologies. This space often resides at the intersection of sports, digital media technologies and entertainment. In particular, Dr. Engerman is interested in how learners use indigenous knowledge to impact authentic learning within and around a disruptive experience age through culturally relevant lenses towards prosocial transformation.
