This series gives you the chance to meet the faces behind Spiff—the dedicated individuals who work tirelessly to shape our product and company. At Spiff, we value relationships, treating people with respect and building lasting connections.
Without further ado, let’s dive in and get to know some of the incredible people who make up the Spiff team!
Belén Díaz Caldas, Principal Technical Talent Partner
Belu grew up and is currently located in Buenos Aires, Argentina, but recently moved to London to follow her next personal and professional goals.
She majored in Human Resources, is a Professional Ontological Coach, and has found her professional calling in Tech recruiting, where she feels she can innovate, be flexible, creative, and meet a lot of interesting people. She thrives at improving processes and creating strong and lasting relationships.
Belu loves to spend time with her family and friends, and loves interacting with her rescue dog Gravi. She is also into taking long walks to discover new and interesting spots in the city.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to have an opportunity to build processes and improve the hiring experiences for both hiring managers and candidates at Spiff.
Leo Johnson, Office Coordinator
Leo grew up in the Salt Lake area and currently resides in Cottonwood Heights. Her curiosity and motivation for continuous knowledge is what peaked her interest in web development and began her transition into the tech industry.
She enjoys supporting others by using effective communication, strategic planning, and a positive attitude. She enjoys being active by weightlifting, roller skating, and hiking in the nearby mountains. She also enjoys baking treats for her friends and family and is a huge movie buff!
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited to have the opportunity to work with some of the brightest minds in the industry and to help create something truly special and impactful! I am passionate about technology and I look forward to contributing to the development of innovative and transformative technologies. Spiff is pushing the boundaries of what is possible, and I am eager to be a part of the journey!
Paul Cataldi, Solutions Engineer
Paul grew up near Detroit, Michigan and moved to Chicago after graduating from Notre Dame. He recently moved back to Detroit and is enjoying living in the city and exploring all that it has to offer.
Paul’s passion for data, technology, and people led him to pursue a career in the tech world where he has the opportunity to provide innovative and exciting solutions to clients. Paul enjoys running, skiing, reading, and spending time in Northern Michigan.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love being a part of a talented team that works together to solve problems for clients through an innovative and exciting product!
Leo Rondeau, Senior Director of Implementation Delivery
Leo grew up in Massachusetts but has spent most of his adult life living across the U.S. and the globe. He is a 20-year Air Force veteran who specialized in crisis management, emergency actions, and nuclear response and has leveraged those skills in his post-military career. Leo loves working and collaborating with teams to help find better ways of doing things and especially loves growing and developing teams and individuals.
He currently lives in South Carolina with his wife and son, and his daughter currently attends Temple University in Philadelphia. Leo and his family love to travel and go to exotic places. He has lived in 17 cities in 12 states and four countries and has traveled to 42 of the 50 states and visited a total of 18 countries. When he’s not traveling, Leo is usually working on a project around the house or spending time with his family.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to have the opportunity to work with such a diverse team and to help contribute to Spiff’s growth.
Facundo Flores Lavalle, Solutions Engineer
Facu is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. He is 23 years old and has recently become an Actuary at the University of Buenos Aires. From a young age, he was interested in math and finance, so he pursued a profession in that area. He later found a passion for data science.
To stay active, he likes to play padel and train at the gym, and in his leisure time, he enjoys cooking and watching tv shows. Facu also has a hidden love for astronomy, he likes to read about this and enjoys stargazing, especially in quiet places with low light pollution.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to further develop both my technical and communication skills whilst engaging with clients regularly. It’s great that Spiff offers a healthy work environment, focusing on its employees.
Brenna Oberg, Sales Development Representative
Brenna was born and raised in Minnesota and currently lives in Lakeland, Minnesota with her husband Chase. Brenna, who is also a registered dietitian, stumbled into the tech world last year and started her sales career at Xactly Corp as an SDR. She quickly realized her hustle mentality and passion for helping others makes her a good fit for sales in the tech industry.
Outside of work, Brenna spends her time on adventures with her Rottweiler (Bonnie), hanging out with friends and family, practicing yoga, cooking, and volunteering at church.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to learn multiple valuable skills in an environment that promotes growth!
Florencia Miguez Oliverio, Solutions Engineer
Florencia is located in Buenos Aires, Argentina. After graduating with a Media Management degree she worked in companies like SAP, Coca-Cola, and Philip Morris International, mainly focusing on Finance and Data Integrity roles.
In 2021 she joined Salesforce, where she developed skills within the Customer Success organization, working closely with the account teams. She has been interested in technology from a very young age and has been diving into programming for the last few years.
One of her hobbies is learning foreign languages and connecting with native speakers to learn more about their culture. She also likes to get to know new cultures through gastronomy, which is why she is always willing to try dishes from restaurants dedicated to a specific country’s cuisine.
During her childhood and teenage years she practiced Artistic Roller Skating, achieving an elite level and taking part in a World Championship. She still loves to connect with this sport through watching Figure Skating and Artistic Roller skating international competitions.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m very excited about skilling up my technical and project management knowledge and working closely with clients during implementation.
BJ Neilsen, Engineering Manager
BJ was born in Utah and began raising a family in Provo. After traveling parts of Europe, in 2017 they moved to Saint Augustine, FL for a few years to live beach life. He realized that as much as he loves surfing and living next to the beach, the mountains will always be where he feels most alive. In 2020, BJ and his family moved to the Blue Ridge mountains in Asheville, NC. BJ has a wonderful spouse and five spunky kids ranging from three to 18.
He has been in software engineering for 20 years and loves to solve interesting and complex problems with smart people. BJ is excited to be at Spiff and looks forward to contributing to the team’s success.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited that I get to work with former colleagues again.
Mariano Malgor, Solutions Engineer
Mariano was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina and grew up in a beautiful place called Tigre. He has always loved technology and knew from the very beginning that it would be one of the most important parts of his life.
He lives with his girlfriend and his two dogs, and he absolutely loves sports, both watching and playing. Soccer, basketball, and tennis are his favorites, and he is a huge fan of Boca Juniors and the NBA. He also enjoys watching movies and reading comics, particularly those from the DC universe and Star Wars.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited by the challenge of working for such an amazing company and the possibility to keep learning about a different field.
Delfina Rodriguez Heavey, Solutions Engineer
Delfina was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She has lived abroad in different cities, like Lima and Lisbon. Since she was very small, she has always liked numbers and mathematics, which lead her to pursue an Actuarial Science degree. By doing so, she found out she could combine data analysis with mathematics, which gave her an opportunity to discover that she could apply both disciplines in almost every real life situation.
Delfina is a very social person, she likes to hang out with friends and family. She loves traveling and getting the chance to explore and get to know new places.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
What excites me the most about Spiff is getting the opportunity to challenge myself on a daily basis.
Hilary Finch, Junior Security Engineer
Hilary grew up in a small town in Virginia. After graduating, she explored various options in her career but always found her way back to tech. She made the decision to enter the tech world by enrolling in the graduate cybersecurity program at Old Dominion University. She is a lifelong learner and loves to leave an impact wherever she goes. Hilary loves to live a quiet life and loves trying new foods and experiences.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited to learn and explore in my role at Spiff!
Cortney Miller, Instructional Designer & Content Creator
After graduating from Utah Valley University with an International Business degree, Cortney decided to explore her love of teaching by becoming a math teacher. After working as a high school math teacher for five years she decided to get back to her business background and try her hand at instructional design.
Cortney has a husband, Oliver, and two children , Leilah and Riley that she loves to spend time with. She also loves to read, ride horses, play the piano, bake, cook, and travel.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited about having the opportunity to work with amazing people in this industry and getting to combine my interest in education and business in one role as an Instructional Designer and Content Creator!
Sara Kreinberg, Customer Success Manager
Sara is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and lives there with her wife and two dogs. She’s built her career mainly within the education and edtech sector, having spent the last eight years in Customer Success.
Outside of work, Sara enjoys traveling, gardening, cooking, hiking and biking, doing crossword puzzles, and exploring new places.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
Working with customers to get the most out of Spiff! I really value the relationships built with customers, and with internal teams, as we work towards success.
Kalvin Miller, Principal Solutions Architect
Kalvin lives in Michigan, where he grew up and married his college sweetheart, Rachel. He began his career in Finance in the Washington, DC area where he discovered the world of Incentive Compensation Administration. Knowing he couldn’t be the only one struggling with complex spreadsheets, macros, and other commission headaches, he began implementing compensation automation software.
He loves connecting with customers and helping make their work lives easier. Now back in Michigan, Kalvin enjoys spending time with his wife and their four children, making homemade pizzas in his Ooni oven, and playing the occasional video game.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to help enable a growing services team with SPM domain knowledge!
Sebastian Müller, Solutions Specialist
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, Sebastian loved to create things from a very young age. First there were Lego blocks, then came computers and mechanical engineering. While studying to get his mechanical engineering degree he started an internship in a pharmaceutical company. From industrial automation to project engineering, he worked there for almost ten years.
Always curious and passionate about solving problems he worked on several side projects that would later combine into his main career path such as 3D printing. Sebastian likes the outdoors and is a certified advanced scuba diver. He likes to cook mostly because he likes being creative and enjoys new flavors.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m always excited to solve problems through logic and technology.
