The Art of Screen Time: Q&A with Anya Kamenetz

Mimi Ito, director of the Connected Learning Lab at UC Irvine, interviews Anya Kamenetz about her latest book, “The Art of Screen Time: How Your Family Can Balance Digital Media and Real Life.”

Mimi Ito is a cultural anthropologist, studying youth new media practices in the U.S. and Japan. She oversees research activities of the Digital Media and Learning Hub and is Chair of the MacArthur Research Network on Connected Learning and Director of the Connected Learning Lab at the University of California, Irvine.

Anya Kamenetz is the lead digital education correspondent for NPR. She was named a 2010 Game Changer in Education by the Huffington Post and won 2009, 2010 and 2015 National Awards from the Education Writers Association. Besides “The Art of Screen Time,” she wrote “Generation Debt,” “DIY U: Edupunks, Edupreneurs, and the Coming Transformation of Higher Education” and “The Test.”
