Hey there, readers! Welcome to the next installment of our Meet the Team series. Whether you’re a regular Spiff blog reader or new to our site, we’re super excited to have you here.
In case you’re new here, this series introduces some of the awesome people who work hard to shape our product, brand, and culture at Spiff. We value relationships, respect, and making lasting connections so it’s important to us that we get to know each other as human beings first and colleagues second.
Without wasting any more time, let’s jump right in and get to know some of the amazing folks that make up the Spiff team!
Ali Schurman, Customer Support Tech
Meet Ali! Originally from North Florida, Ali made the move to the SF/Bay Area approximately four years ago. Ali is thrilled about the opportunity to engage with users and help them overcome their day-to-day obstacles. Recently, Ali decided to pivot their career from people ops/recruiting to a more technical role, where they can apply their people and analytical skills to create an outstanding user experience. In their free time, Ali enjoys reading classic novels, sewing, drawing, and exploring the great outdoors.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love all of the learning opportunities I have working at Spiff.
Lulu Vega, Talent Experience Analyst
Lulu is the youngest of his siblings, born in a small town in Buenos Aires, Argentina. During his first job, Lulu moved to Brazil where he gained valuable insights into the type of professional he aspired to be. Lulu has experience in customer service, sales, onboarding, data analysis, and languages (he speaks three).
Lulu is a highly energetic person who loves challenges, meeting new people, and working in teams. Lulu has a deep passion for fashion and uses fashion as a means of self-expression.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to build my future with a competent company, with good values, and above all a place that gives me the tools to make an impact.
Jacob Patton, Sr. SDET
Jacob has lived in Utah for most of his life, though he did have several instances in his life living in other states and countries. He always found himself wondering how things worked and taking them apart to learn their secrets. After meeting some family friends who were software engineers, Jacob found himself wanting to learn how to write software. Ensuring that software does what people expect it to has become a game to Jacob, and as an avid gamer, it made for a good time! When Jacob isn’t writing software or tests, he is either learning how to cook something new, gardening, or spending time with his family.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love getting to work in a new space– to me, it’s all new– the industry, the people, the technology.
Noah Park, Sales Development Representative
Noah is from a town in Central Illinois called Champaign. He attended University of Illinois and is considered a townie. Noah found his passion in being able to foster relationships and commercialize them. He would describe sales in four words which would be to make friends and solve problems! Ultimately, Noah thoroughly enjoys being able to support his peers and see success come out of them along with himself. He has a love for music and sports and currently lives in Miami Beach.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love all of the amazing people and of course, the opportunity to generate revenue for the company!
Lucas Vazquez, Implementation Specialist
Lucas is from Buenos Aires, Argentina. Through his childhood, he really enjoyed math and the finance world, that’s why, as a result he pursued a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration.
Through his career development, he discovered the programming world and fell in love instantly. When he found out about Spiff, the career shift was a no-brainer!
When Lucas is not crunching numbers, you can find him training at the gym or hanging out with friends.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love getting to challenge myself and learn new skills each day.
Teri Brehio, Project Manager
Teri currently lives in South Carolina about an hour inland from the ocean. She loves the beach but she would rather be hiking and camping in the mountains, or sitting by a good fire. In her spare time she enjoys painting, reading, crocheting, and working out in virtual reality. Teri is a classically trained musician who loves all kinds of music. She enjoys digging into things to see how they work and fixing things when they don’t work.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited for the opportunity to grow with a new company and to challenge myself in this new role.
Stephen Reed, Implementation Specialist
Stephen was born in North Carolina and spent most of his childhood moving around the world before settling down in Utah and studying at BYU to become a teacher. After four rewarding years at Timpview High School, he packed up his 01′ Toyota Camry and headed east towards Columbus, Ohio where his wife was set to begin graduate school. 2,000 miles away from home and at a crossroads in his professional life, he began taking online courses in order to expand his opportunities. Finally ready to dip his toes into the tech world, he looked into Spiff and found a match made in heaven! Stephen, a sports nerd and the world’s #1 Utah Jazz fan, also loves fishing, sewing, and writing music.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited to work in a role that’s engaging on both a technical and an interpersonal level.
Cassidy Bouse, Senior UX Designer
Cassidy (Cass) grew up in Utah and originally went into social work/healthcare. After getting stuck several units behind in human anatomy and realizing a passion for drawing and graphics she found UX Design. It was the perfect blend of psychology and creativity she was looking for! Using data in design and working with complex problems is what makes her day. For Cass, watching anime, spending time with her three boys, biking, and doing pilates are some of her favorite past times. She also loves planning home projects, reading, playing video games, and spending time in the mountains.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love data-informed design and getting to collaborate with my team!
Florencia Moya, Project Manager
Florencia has studied and obtained a degree in political science, although she has never put it into practice. Instead, she started managing projects and daily tasks, helping others to organize their work. Gradually, she realized that project management is her true passion. Florencia has worked in notable companies, forming lasting friendships that she still maintains.
She loves spending time with friends and family. Although she doesn’t have children, Florencia is blessed with five nephews, which she considers more than enough. A football fan, she admits being a horrible player but thoroughly enjoys watching the game. However, her true love lies in tennis. Florencia actively participates in tournaments and can spend hours in front of the TV watching matches.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited for a new challenge!
Brandon Winter, Project Manager
Brandon was born and raised in Spring, TX, a suburb of Houston. After graduating from high school, he attended the University of Houston, where he pursued a major in mathematics with the intention of using his degree to teach high school math. He had the opportunity to spend ten years in the high school setting, where he not only taught math but also served as a positive influence for the young men and women he interacted with each day. Brandon is grateful for that season of his life and all it taught him, including effective communication, teamwork, problem-solving, relationship building, and a strong work ethic.
In addition to his teaching experience, Brandon worked for four years as an analyst at a fast-paced consulting firm, where he refined his technical skills. His unique professional background has equipped him with the ability to blend technical expertise with patience, as well as clear and concise communication.
Outside of work, Brandon loves spending time with his wife of 13 years and his 8 and 9-year-old sons. Some of his personal hobbies include working out, playing pick-up basketball, and serving in his church community.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m really excited to have the opportunity to use the skills developed from my unique professional background to help further the growth of Spiff.
Cynthia Chaile, Project Manager
Cynthia was born and raised in Buenos Aires, Argentina. She loves spending time with her friends, family and her six years old dog “Indiana”(for Indiana Jones). She loves traveling , listening to music, watching movies (especially thrillers), and if she has time, reading fictional books.
Cynthia has a degree in labor relations, a postgraduate in Human resources and will start a Masters degree in Human Resources at the end of 2023. Throughout her professional life, she has spent most of her career working in Payroll in multinational companies. In recent years she started to get involved in different projects, which led her to get to know more about the project manager role and keep on learning from it. She is excited for her future at Spiff.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I am excited to interact with such diverse, passionate, and talented people while facing new challenges and enhancing my professional skills.
Nathan Geddes, Customer Support Tech
Nate spent his early high school years searching for WiFi signals on an old iPhone 4 that he used for internet and games. Up until then his growing up years were full of good grades and lots of books. He also developed a love of ballroom dancing which took him on a trip or two to Europe. It even found him a wife who has since given him a little baby girl.
Nate earned a small patch of gray hair while working in the hardwood lumber industry and he can spend hours discussing the audiobooks he consumes. Some of his favorite authors include Brandon Sanderson, Malcolm Gladwell, and The Arbinger Institute. At work he loves seeing people grow whether it be customers or coworkers.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love that I’ve been able to jump into the tech world!
Mandheer Khabra, Senior Solutions Architect
Mandheer was born and raised in Toronto, Canada and studied at the University of Toronto before joining the SPM world directly out of school. He spent the last six years going from delivering implementations to working with system integrators on industry best practices and recommendations. As a Solutions Architect, Mandheer enjoys being able to brainstorm and design solutions for complex implementations. Aside from work, Mandheer is a huge fan of traveling to new countries and is currently planning his wedding which is scheduled for the end of August.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I love getting to learn the Spiff platform and being able to work directly with the sales team.
Hannah Sasser, Customer Experience Analyst
Hannah was born and raised in North Carolina. She has spent time in Europe, Mexico, and anywhere that catches her eye. During her years in the startup world, she has found that her passions are streamlining process improvement, planning for scalability and growth of the product and company, and creating lasting partnerships with internal colleagues and external stakeholders.
Outside of work, Hannah loves to spend time with her rescue dog, Pirata. She loves to experiment with analog photography, interior design, and textiles. She one day hopes to own a vintage car and learn basic mechanics to keep it running.
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I’m excited about the prospect of setting the foundations and processes to build upon for the Customer Experience team. I’m also incredibly excited to get to know new team members and really dive into all things Spiff!
Jack Denning, Enterprise Sales Development Representative
Jack is originally from Charlotte, North Carolina. He loves staying active, traveling, music, and spending time with friends. Jack loves to push himself to learn new things and have new experiences, made evident by his early start in door-to-door sales four years ago. He found connecting with people and building helpful relationships to be deeply fulfilling. Jack was introduced to the world of tech and completed the Apireship SaaS Sales Foundations course. He’s now a seasoned SDR that loves opening new and interesting opportunities for his team!
What excites you most about your role at Spiff?
I get excited about opening up relationships that benefit the people around me. This role and team are a great match because I’m able to bring meaningful change to people’s professional lives.
